Small Japanese Ramen shop in the heart of Toronto.
This is their Shoyu Ramen. Delicious. The noodles were just right. I don't like them too soft, I like them a bit on the harder side and this was just right. The meat was really well prepared. It was like slices of pork belly with soy sauce. The broth was quite nicely balanced too. Sometimes ramen broth gets too salty (i.e. instant noodles) but this wasn't like that.
This is their Gyoza. Very tasty except the seal was already breaking on them before even touching them. In English, apparently these are call "potstickers." I had never heard the term before last year, and even then I didn't find out what they were until recently.
The restaurant itself is on Dundas St. E and Church. It's a fairly small place, I'd say it could seat 20 people. But the turnover is pretty quick. My friend and I were in and out of there in about 30 minutes. Also, everyone working there is Japanese, not like some of the all-you-can-eat sushi places here in Toronto. Those places are run by Chinese people. These Japanese people take their food making seriously. It's like an art to them. They're very diligent and careful with how they handle the food. I highly recommend trying this place.
